Yelp 5 Stars
“The best Italian restaurant in C’ville! The grilled calamari was the best I’ve had since I was in Amalfi Italy, & it was hard to find there! The redplum tomato sauce was to die for. Both my wife & a guest has a number of food allergies. Both the waitress & chef were very accommodating and offered to prepare several items not on the menu. The Montepulciano d’Abruzzo was good, as always, as I’ve ordered it in many other fine Italian restaurants, & the wine was reasonably priced. The music was soft & Italian enough to enhance, not interfere. The spacing between tables was good, & there are a few quiet corners. After our great dinner experience we went back a few days later for lunch & were not disappointed.”

“Charlottesville has another outstanding Italian restaurant in Caffe Bocce. The food is authentically Italian, the service is exemplary, and the ambiance is elegant and restrained. This place is outstanding in every way. Run, don’t walk, to Caffe Bocce for splendid Italian food!”

“We had a wonderful experience at Caffe Bocce last night. The staff (and owner) were extremely accommodating and the food was excellent! Great atmosphere – white tablecloths, consistent with a nice Italian place but it is very reasonably priced. The owner recommended an excellent wine, an Italian red blend. Our meals were nicely presented and the sauces were exquisite. Caffe Bocce is a great addition to downtown Charlottesville and I highly recommend it!”

“So pleased with both the service and the food. Make you and your friends, and/or family, happy and bring them to this place.”

“The food is AWESOME! Can’t say enough. The owner/chef is friendly and checks in on you. The staff is helpful and cordial. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic enough for a date, but also casual enough for a friendly dinner. I had the salmon on mashed potatoes with brussel sprouts and green beans and it was to die for. I also tried the sardine appetizer (which the owner brought for us to try) and although it tasted good, I couldn’t really see myself ordering it again. It is a whole fish and that kind of freaks me out. However, it says a lot that I actually ate it considering it really isn’t my thing. The prices are about average for this quality of food/atmospehere in the Charlottesville area.”

“Solid. New place in downtown Charlottesville. A great blend of hand crafted Classic Italian and New American. This place feels fine dining but with a relaxed vibe and very reasonable prices. I’ve eaten here twice and there is no doubt I’ll become a regular.”

“A lot of the food in downtown Charlottesville is overpriced or overpraised. Cafe Bocce is a welcome addition because the food is excellent and the prices reasonable. Everything my guest and I tried, and every dish we saw going to other tables, was top shelf. This is one fine addition to C’ville’s restaurant scene.”

“…fans of the old Caffe Bocce can once again appreciate the care his kitchen likes to lavish on fish dishes, as well as his French-inspired sauces.”
